Samenvatting

Het verhaal van de laatste jaren van de Britse kunstenaar J.M.W. Turner, die leefde van 1775 tot en met 1851. Hoewel het een gerenommeerd kunstenaar was werd hij verbannen als lid van de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten. Hij woonde samen met zijn vader, die zowel zijn assistent als huishouder was, en maakte deel uit van de aristocratie, bezocht bordelen en haalde inspiratie uit zijn vele reizen. Zijn roem zorgde er echter niet voor dat hij bespaard bleef van publieke spot en sarcasme.
